Gone East
Four in the morning a distant prayer from the mosques covers sleepless beds
Condolences have left closing their eyes on another day
An empty bed in this shelter of the living A distant prayer from the mosque it's four in the morning
Streets
Shanks unfolded divulge symptoms tribulations too vast for one so bantam dirty and forsaken essentials left cold an empty soul and runny nose hankering for concern a cup of hot chocolate to warm the heart
The Funeral
It was an icy day we buried the cat then took her box and set match to it in the backyard those fleas that escaped earth and fire died by the cold

Tranquility
Greet the moon and let it warm the night whisper through the trees and soften the dark draw in the waves and ease them to sleep restrain the clouds and tempt the sun unfold your wings and bring forth the day
Echoes of Silence - 1979
The empty halls fill with loneliness that creeps through at night The kids are gone, the silence spreads and every crack is shut tight
Gentle footsteps coming down the hall announce the end of the day bouncing off every wall no one's here to stay
The slamming of a door left ajar the turning of a key All of these can be heard from afar The echo is plenty
The voice of a man echoes through the hall and meets with the voice of another One is short and one is tall They leave the building together
Not a single sound is heard as the lights go off Nothing ever occurred Just the routine stuff
Of my Room I
let you take my hand I
opened up the doors I
cleared away the past And
my heart was yours
You
hung your memories On
every beating wall You
caressed my heart And
then stole my soul
Tonight
there is a moon And
the wind moves Through
the empty corners Of
my broken rooms
